Associate Membership

Associate membership is for LGBT individuals and straight allies who do not directly work in the financial services industry, but who have an interest in those who do.  If you do not work in finance, but provide goods, services, or networking opportunities to those who do, your participation in FSIX is welcome!

For example, real estate professionals, art gallery owners, event planners, small business owners or even professional caterers are all welcome.  Associate members have the same benefits as regular members, but selection of this category provides us with the opportunity to better tailor FSIX activities and services to meet your specific needs, such as classified advertising or workshops on marketing to our community.

Community Partnership

Community Partners are a valued complement to FSIX, since connecting LGBT finance professionals and straight allies to each other and to the larger community is what we are all about.  If you work for a community organization, such as a not for profit group, foundation or charity, and have an appropriate and relevant need to connect to financial services professionals, then this is the membership category for you!

FSIX offers Community Partners a significantly discounted rate for the full privileges of membership, in respect of the contribution you make to our greater good.  Many FSIX members may already belong to your organization, but welcome the additional effort made to reach out to them in the context of their chosen profession.  As a non-partisan, not-for-profit, all-volunteer group ourselves, FSIX welcomes the opportunity to promote volunteerism and charitable giving to selected Community Partners, and we encourage you to join at this level.

Proof of employment with your organization may be required, and FSIX is unable to support partisan political fundraising.  We also request that you refrain from broad fundraising appeals or solicitations to FSIX members.  A member of our Board of Directors would be pleased to work with you on appropriate ways to meet mutual needs and interests.

Student Membership

Financial services professionals are not born with the expertise they possess, but in many cases earned it through a combination of hard work and education.  FSIX recognizes the future managers and leaders of our industry, by offering a special opportunity for current full and part-time students of any age interested in a career in Financial Services, to participate in our community.

Student Membership is offered at a significant discount, and accordingly proof of current full or part-time status as a student in required to register or renew at this level.  Your information will be kept private, and not shared with your school or current or potential employers.  However, being able to identify students and summer interns enables FSIX to better target your needs and provide you with opportunities to make valuable connections, before you graduate. 

Further, most schools and universities now have LGBT and Finance organizations, and you are encouraged to put FSIX in touch with those campus groups.  FSIX is pleased to provide a Speakers Bureau, Informational Interview and Mentoring programs.  In addition, your FSIX membership provides you with access to our Member directory, to more effectively target your job search process and develop your social and professional networks. 

Sustaining Members are the angels of FSIX: successful financial services professionals whose senior level of experience, accomplishment and philanthropy enables them to support FSIX at a higher level of giving.

Sustaining Members receive all the benefits of Individual Membership, plus the additional value of specific events and outreach tailored to their needs, abilities and interests. Sustaining Members are recognized in special, private events with members of our Board of Directors.  The Board of Directors may also seek your guidance on the overall mission or objectives of FSIX, either individually or as a member of our Advisory Board.

In addition to the potential tax benefits at this higher level of giving, Sustaining Members perform a vital service to FSIX by ensuring the continuity of the organization, and our visibility and access to the highest levels of the financial services industry. Sustaining Membership is an excellent way of giving back to future generations, some of the success that you have achieved, and is deeply appreciated and valued.
